| TEPITOPE Software Package |
Download Instructions To obtain the license for TEPITOPE-2000 beta, see "Collaborations" tab. TEPITOPE installation: (1) Hardware and Software requirements:
- PC (IBM or compatible computer) - Pentium II processor - Windows 98/NT/2000
(2) Installing the application: - Create a new folder on your C or D drive and name it ‘vaccinome’.
- Access the 'vaccinome' folder at the following Webpage (user name and password required):
http://www.bigvault.com |
- Download the following files to your 'vaccinome' folder at your hard drive:
setup.lst Tepito1.cab Tepito2.cab Tepito3.cab Tepito4.cab setup.exe
- Please confirm that the filenames do EXACTLY appear as shown here. - Double-click on setup.exe and follow the instructions.
- If you have an older system, you might be asked to restart your computer before the installation process can continue. In this case restart your computer and double-click the ‘setup.exe’ file again.
- Depending on your system files, you might be asked several times during the installation, whether you want to keep your newer system files or replace it by older ones. In this case please keep your newer system files, i.e. do NOT replace them by older TEPITOPE files! (4) TEPITOPE has been tested on Windows 98 and Windows 2000. TEPITOPE has also been successfully tested on a variety of hardware/system combinations. Nevertheless, some people have experienced problems in installing TEPITOPE. The most common mistake is that the filenames were modified during the downloading process. In this case, the TEPITOPE installation will not work. Unfortunately, some installation problems have not been resolved yet. Since Vaccinome is a non-profit organization, we cannot provide support for IT issues. In short, if the installation does not work, we recommend trying it on another and possibly newer computer. (5) Using TEPITOPE is not as straightforward as it seems (no bioinformatics tool is…including BLAST) and needs experience. We therefore highly recommend that you keep at least initially in contact with Vaccinome scientists to discuss your prediction results as part of a collaboration. We will try to generate a more comprehensive HelpFile in future – driven by the user's feedback… |
